Ukfives Play For Jay Charity 5-a-side Football Tournament
Almost 100 players took part in a charity 5-a-side Football tournament organised by local company Ukfives to raise money for Jay Young at Eastleigh FC in Stoneham Lane.
Jay was recently seriously injured rehearsing for a stunt show at Lego Land and has been left paralysed since his accident.
Jay is well known to Ukfives, he was a regular member of the successful Samson’s Gym team that went unbeaten for 5 seasons in the Premier league, where he also topped the golden boot, goal scoring charts.
The event was run to help raise money to help Jay’s rehab and also to send a message to him to stay strong and that others, his friends and opponent’s that he has come up against in the Ukfives leagues are thinking of him and wishing him well. A total of £400 was raised and will go towards other fundraising events.
The event was played in good spirit and was of a high quality, both the semi-finals going to a penalty shoot-out.
The final was also a tight affair which also went to a penalty decider; The Bowkats were the team to hold their nerve most against The Reserves.
The winning team took home the Jay Young trophy and in the spirit of the competition gave their winning refreshments to the runners up.
Ukfives would like to thank Eastleigh FC for organising the opening of catering facilities and for all the teams that gave up their time to participate, donate funds and also for purchasing Pray For Jay merchandise that was available on the Day. |

July '09 Honeypot Charity says thanks
The Honeypot Charity is delighted to be working with UK Fives. With the help of companies like them we can give more vulnerable children the opportunity to enjoy a better childhood. UK Fives has so far raised £320 for Honeypot and this is enough to give a young carer a much needed weekend respite break at Honeypot House in the New Forest, where they will be able to take part in activities such as learning to swim, riding a bike and playing safely outdoors, simple childhood pleasures that they would otherwise go without. Thank you to UK Fives for their support
Thanks from all at the Honeypot Charity
